Interior and Exterior Painting in Lehigh Acres, FL

Paint in Southwest Florida has a harder job than paint almost anywhere else. UV exposure, driving rain and humidity attack an exterior finish constantly, and the difference between a paint job that looks good for eight years and one that chalks and peels in three is almost entirely preparation. DMG Builders LLC (license CGC1537383) paints interiors and exteriors in Lehigh Acres and throughout Lee County.

What We Do

  • Exterior repainting — stucco, block, siding, soffit, fascia and trim.
  • Interior painting — walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets.
  • Stucco and drywall repair — cracks, spalling and damaged areas repaired before paint.
  • Pressure washing and surface prep.
  • Caulking and sealing at windows, doors and transitions.
  • Cabinet and door refinishing.

Preparation Is the Whole Job

On a Florida exterior, the sequence that actually determines longevity is: wash the surface and let it dry properly, repair stucco cracks and spalled areas rather than painting over them, seal hairline cracking with an elastomeric patching compound where appropriate, re-caulk every window and door penetration, prime bare and repaired areas, and only then apply finish coats at the manufacturer’s specified spread rate.

Most of the failures we get called to fix are the result of skipping steps in that list — usually painting over damp stucco, painting over unrepaired cracks, or stretching a gallon further than the label allows. A cheap bid is nearly always a bid that removed prep, and you will see the difference in the third year, not the first.

What Should Be Written in a Painting Estimate

Painting is the trade where two estimates for the same house can differ by half, and the reason is almost never the paint. Before you compare numbers, check that each estimate states the same things:

  • How many coats, and whether primer is included on bare or repaired surfaces.
  • What surfaces are included — soffit, fascia, trim, doors, garage door and the pool cage are frequently excluded without being mentioned.
  • What repair is included and what is billed separately if more is found.
  • The specific product and finish, not just a brand name.
  • Caulking at windows, doors and penetrations.
  • Masking and protection of windows, fixtures, landscaping and driveways.

Our estimates spell all of that out, which sometimes makes our number look higher than a one-line bid for the same address. It is usually not a higher price for the same work — it is a written scope compared against an unwritten one.

Interior Painting: What to Expect

Interior work is less weather-dependent but more disruptive, since it happens in rooms you are using. We work room by room where possible, move and cover furniture, mask floors and fixtures, patch nail holes and drywall damage, and cut in by hand rather than relying on tape alone. Low-VOC products keep the house livable while work is underway, and most interiors are ready to reoccupy the same day a room is finished.

Timing Around Florida Weather

Exterior painting is weather-dependent. Summer afternoon storms and high humidity affect both drying and adhesion, so exterior work gets scheduled around the forecast and typically runs in the morning during the wet season. We would rather move a day than put finish on a surface that is not ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I repaint the exterior?

In this climate, roughly every seven to ten years for a properly prepared stucco exterior, though sun exposure and color choice affect that. South and west elevations always fade first.

Do you repair stucco cracks before painting?

Yes, and it is not optional in our scope. Painting over cracked or spalled stucco hides the problem for one season and then reappears through the finish.

How long does it take to paint a house?

A typical single-family exterior runs about three to five days including prep and pressure washing. Interiors depend on how many rooms and how much trim work is involved.

Do you paint kitchen cabinets?

Yes. Properly done it involves degreasing, sanding, priming and a durable finish, which is a different process from painting walls and priced accordingly.

Do you paint outside Lehigh Acres?

Yes, throughout Lee and Collier County.

We provide this service across Southwest Florida: Lehigh Acres, Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Naples.
